The French Federation of Associations of Spina Bifida has been created and declared on 30 March 1994 at Toulouse prefecture (published in the Official Journal of 20 April 1994).
Currently it is the only official representative association of Spina Bifida accepted by the French authorities, French and European (from the European Congress of Holland in 1994) as well as international since the Congress of Sydney (Australia) in September 1995.

The purpose of the Federation:

• Consolidate the various local associations, departments or regional establishments for people with spina bifida and related diseases.
• Provide the necessary medical and social information at the national and international level.
• Complete all public service missions entrusted to it.
